Music has been an essential part of worship for God's people from Old Testament times onwards. The book of Psalms in the Bible is the hymnbook of the people of Israel, and some of the quotations in the New Testament (e.g. Philippians 2:6-11) are thought to be songs from the early church.

Music and Singers at Selsdon Baptist Church

Music forms an important part of our worship at Selsdon Baptist. Our normal Sunday worship includes a number of songs through which we give praise to God and enrich our worship. A team of instrumentalists contribute to the sound of our worship, and our singing is led and supported by the members of the singing group.

Occasionally we have visiting musicians - for instance we had a Paul Field concert as part of a recent Alpha course.

From time to time we have special music events, for either worship, fellowship or fundraising.
