Farewell to David Maynne
After six years, first as a student minister, and then as our Associate Minister, Rev David Mayne has moved on to become the Senior Minister at Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church.
We had a farewell party for David and his wife Anna on Saturday 8th October 2011.
The party was held at Greenvale school, in recognition that our Greenvale congregation started under David’s leadership.
About 80 of us had an excellent evening, with a tasty meal of lasagne and pavlova, followed by speeches and entertainment. We particularly enjoyed David’s karaoke rendition of Shirley Bassey’s song Hey Big Spender, and the sentiment was expressed that “Essex will never, never, be the same again”!
We also thanked God for David’s time spent with us, and prayed for his coming ministry in Essex.
