Mark and Penny O’Sullivan have been in Bulgaria for 6 years. Mark O’Sullivan is a trained youth worker and has significant experience in this field. They live in Sofia where they are raising their three children

In 2007 a team of eight members from Selsdon Baptist went out to spend a week in Bulgaria helping the work of the Cedar Foundation. The team worked at a special needs children's hospital and an orphanage, decorating, installing electrics, and of course spending time with the children. The team said that they gained as much from the trip as they gave.

Teams have gone out again in 2008 and 2009.

BMS Action Teams

BMS Action Teams are groups of young people taking a gap year in their education.

After one month’s training with BMS World Mission, Action Teams spend six months overseas. Following their placement each Action Team  begins a UK tour, working with eight different churches over eight weeks. The Dehli 08-09 Team visited Selsdon Baptist Church from 18th-25th June 2009, having travelled down from their previous church in Dundee.

Over their week with us here in Selsdon, they worked in local schools taking assemblies and R.E. lessons, lead a BMS Prayer Meeting, took part in morning and evening services, met Home Groups and chatted with our Global Action Team.

Selsdon Baptist uses the BMS Birthday Scheme to raise money for BMS.

If you join the scheme, the secretary, Sheila Harvey will send you a card on your birthday.

You are invited to make a donation in response to BMS
