We were delighted to share in the celebration of his baptism with Chris on Easter Sunday, in the morning service. See the pictures below.

Mike Elcome and Simon Maddox baptise Chris
In his testimony, Chris told us that although his mother was a catholic, and he had been brought up to respect the Christian values of love and peace, he had decided that though Christianity was a ‘nice thing’, it was unrealistic because you had to fight to get on in the world.
As he got older, he got into other forms of spirituality, joining a spiritualist
church, and felt that he was possessed, tormented, and really needed help. He went
to a Christian at work, Vaughan, who prayed to Jesus with him, which brought him
relief. He also talked to the pastor at Caterham Baptist Church, and wanted to know
how to protect himself for the future. It was explained that he was already doing
the right thing -
Since then Chris has prayed. God has saved him through people showing him the way. The book ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ helped Chris come to realise that God accepts us all, and that we should accept Jesus and follow Him.
It has taken Chris two years to come to the point of baptism. He sees his baptism as the beginning of his journey.
