Arts & Craft Exhibition
On 1st
July 2006 we held an Arts and Crafts Exhibition - an
opportunity to share with the community the enjoyment members of the
fellowship gain from art and craft activities of all sorts, to share
skills and techniques, and to express how our creativity brings
glory to God by celebrating His creativity.
Here is a selection of pictures of some of
the exhibits and activities on display on the day. Not everything is
shown - some things are easier to photograph than others!
These
must be the biggest knitting needles I have ever seen. I presume
they weren't used to knit this tea service!

Balloon sculpture - Dave Cole kept children of
all ages happy! Face painting was part of the fun too - sadly the
England football team only lasted a couple of hours more in the world
cup!

Or for the more serious minded youngster, the chance to try out
watercolour painting:-

Chris Richards has done some amazing things with wood:-

We invited SBC pre-School, and Selsdon Primary and Greenvale Primary
Schools to submit artwork on the Rainbow, to link in with the Rainbow
Vision at Selsdon Baptist Church - here are some of the paintings they
produced:-

This wonderful set of rainbow colours was done by members of our
MADD club for children
in school years 1 - 3.
We have a wonderful set of banners that are used in the church, and
many of these were on display in the church. These have been produced by
a small team over the years. Here is a picture of one of them, and of a
new banner being worked on during the exhibition.

Janet at work pinning up a new banner - "I am the True Vine" which
will remind us that we must draw our strength form Jesus, just as the
grape draws its strength from the vine.

A short prayer to close
We offer all our creativity as an offering to God - may it bring
glory to God - we worship God with our hearts, with our minds, and with
the work of our hands. We pray that you are touched by God's love and
may know his friendship. Amen
