Alpha.

What is Alpha?

If you want to ask questions and understand more about the Christian faith in a relaxed, informal way, join us at ALPHA.

ALPHA is a course of twelve sessions where people gather at Selsdon Baptist Church for a meal together, followed by an introductory talk or video on one aspect of the Christian faith. This is followed by a time of questions and small group discussion. An Alpha Day is part of the programme.

The course is led by our own Mike Elcome and David Mayne.

Martin Seymour - London Cabbie

Alpha 2009

Alpha 2009 kicked off on Thursday evening September 24th with the Alpha Supper. In addition to an excellent free three course meal, we had  Martin Seymour as a speaker.

Martin is a London Cabbie. He used to be an atheist who persecuted those who were naive enough to believe the myth of Christianity! He was angry when his wife started attending an Alpha course but was persuaded to attend himself where he “dared to believe”. He is now a part-time Baptist minister working in the community. Martin spoke at one of our "Men's Breakfasts" in 2008 and was very entertaining.

The meal was an opportunity to meet us prior to the start of the Alpha Course proper, which started on Thursday evening, 1st October.

We would love you to join us for Alpha, so please  contact the office if you are interested.

National Alpha

Alpha 2010?

Wot no Alpha?!

This Autumn we are planning a change from the Alpha course which usually runs at this season.

In the first part of the Autumn, we will be doing a series called 'Network' which looks at our spiritual gifts.

After the Autumn half-term we will run a course called 'Journeys' to which we can bring our friends who are seeking to know more about the Christian faith through sharing life stories.
